About the Recipe

Best healthy snacking option right from kids to elders. Consumes very less oil. It can be eaten during fasting. Low calorie. Loaded with much health benefits. Rich source of calcium, zinc, magnesium and potassium along with proteins and carbohydrates.

Ingredients

3 cups lotus seeds (makhana)
1 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
1 tsp chaat masala
salt to tasted

Preparation

Heat a deep non-stick pan, add raw makhanas and dry roast them on a medium flame for 4 to 5 minutes till they become crunchy. Transfer it in the deep bowl and keep aside.

Heat oil in the same pan; add red chilli powder, cumin seeds powder, chaat masala and salt; mix well.

Add the roasted makhanas, mix well and sauté it on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes.

Cool it completely and store it in an airtight container. Use as required.
